‘Mentalist’ star ‘sad about romance end’

Amanda Righetti has admitted that she is sad about the end of her romance on The Mentalist.
Righetti’s character Grace van Pelt had been dating Wayne Rigsby (Owain Yeoman) but the pair were forced to split up in the last season.
“They’re skirting around the idea,” Righetti told TV Guide. “They’re pretending that they’re OK with the fact that they’re not dating anymore, but they’re not OK with it.”
She added: “I was sad they weren’t together longer. There’s something about his protectiveness with her that I think is really charming.”
The Mentalist returns for a new season on September 23 on CBS.

Eric Winter joins ‘The Mentalist’

Eric Winter has joined CBS crime drama The Mentalist in a recurring role.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the actor will play Craig O’Laughlin, a former football player turned FBI agent.
The character will serve as a new love interest for Grace Van Pelt (Amanda Righetti).
Winter previously had a recurring role on ABC drama Brothers & Sisters where he played Jason McCallister, brother of Senator Robert McCallister (Rob Lowe) and love interest of Kevin Walker (Matthew Rhys).
He has also appeared in films such as 2008′s Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay and 2009 romantic comedy The Ugly Truth.
